Heather Broadfield is Head of Family Law at Frodshams. She qualified as a solicitor in 2011 and has specialised in family law throughout her career. She holds the Law Society's Family Law Accreditation and is a member of Resolution, whose Code of Practice commits family lawyers to resolving disputes constructively, managing conflict and keeping the interests of any children in view.

Her practice covers divorce and financial remedy proceedings, ranging from high-net-worth cases involving property portfolios, family businesses and high-value pension funds through to matters with more modest assets. She also acts in complex children proceedings, including cases involving allegations of non-accidental injury or abuse, and cases where a child is reluctant or refusing to spend time with a parent and allegations of alienating behaviours are raised.

She acts for applicants and respondents alike in domestic abuse proceedings, and for parents seeking to re-establish a relationship with their children where that is in the child's best interests. She also gives her time to the firm's family law clinics.

Heather writes and reviews the family law content on this site, covering divorce, financial settlement and clean break orders, arrangements for children, cohabitation and protective injunctions.
